Arriva midlands’ newest learning centre opened by

Local MP for Derby North, Bob Laxton, is visiting Arriva's Derbydepot on Tuesday 29 March to officially open the bus company'slatest Learning Centre offering employees access to new skills andqualifications.

Arriva has worked in partnership with the Trades Union Congressand Learning Skills Council, who jointly funded a new LearningCentre at Derby depot.

Arriva is setting up learning centres at bus businesses acrossthe UK – providing computers so that employees, and their immediatefamilies, are given the opportunity to access 'Learndirect' coursesand the Arriva Learning and Development Gateway.

Currently there are four learning centres in Arriva depots inthe Midlands. To date, the most popular courseshave been in computing with an impressive 165 employees choosing anIT programme, with courses in brushing up and improving English andMaths skills coming a close second in popularity
