Arriva named top ten by BiTC's race for opportunity awards

Arriva plc has been named as one of Business in the Community's(BiTC's) top ten overall performers in the Race for Opportunity(RfO) awards announced today (28 June 2005).

RfO recognises efforts that organisations make to ensure thattheir workforce is diverse and that differences are valued andunderstood.

The top ten is compiled by benchmarking organisations againsteach other in terms of the importance they place on diversity, andthe practical processes put in place to encourage applications foremployment and improve the overall experience that a person ofethnic minority has when dealing with the business concerned.

Alison O'Connor, human resources development director, Arrivaplc, said:
