Arriva wins contracts in Waterland, near Amsterdam

Arriva plc – Europe's leading transport organisation – iscelebrating after winning a substantial new public transportcontract in Waterland, a region just north of Amsterdam .

The new contract, which starts in December 2005 and lasts forsix years, will involve an investment by Arriva of some £23million and is expected to result in a turnover of some £120million.

Bob Davies, Arriva plc's chief executive, welcomed the win:

Winning this contract strengthens our aim to be thelargest transport provider in Europe.

Anne Hettinga, director of Arriva Netherlands said:

We are delighted to have won this contract which offersgreat growth opportunities in the urban area in the western part ofthe country.

With this latest contract win, Arriva now has operations in 8 ofthe 12 provinces in The Netherlands.
