MP gets insight into capital city’s railway station

Cardiff North Member of Parliament Julie Morgan visited CardiffCentral this week to meet managers and employees at Wales' busiestrailway station.

Mrs Morgan, a member of the Parliamentary Welsh Affairs SelectCommittee at Westminster, took the opportunity for a behind thescenes tour following an open invitation

During the visit, Mrs Morgan discussed a wide range of issuesincluding service provision, integration between the bus and railstations, station accessibility, signage improvements, left luggageprovision and station management during key events.

Mrs Morgan said:

It has been a worthwhile visit, which has provided mewith a valuable insight into the operations and management of thestation. It is clear that much has been done to enhance the stationin recent years and it is vital that these improvements continuefor the benefit of rail users and Cardiff as the capital city ofWales.

Mike Hurley, area manager for Arriva Trains Wales, said:

The visit was an excellent opportunity to meet with oneof our key stakeholders. We were able to listen to Mrs Morgan'sviews on developments within the station and where furtherimprovements could be made, which can be considered as part of ourreview into customer service delivery improvements at stationsacross our network.
