Arriva acquires second bus operator in Czech Republic

Leading European passenger transport group Arriva plc, todayannounced the acquisition of Czech Republic bus operator Bosak Buss.r.o. for a cash payment of £1.1 million and the assumptionof £0.7 million debt.

With revenue of some £2.1 million, Bosak Bus s.r.o. is aprivately-held company which operates 50 buses to the south west ofPrague, and employs 64 people.

David Martin, chief executive of Arriva plc, said:

This acquisition strengthens our position in the CzechRepublic, particularly in the Greater Prague area, following ourentry into the market with the acquisition of Transcentrum Buss.r.o. at the end of last year.
The Czech transport market began to open up in the1990s. With the country's entry into the European Union the timingis right to be part of this market as it continues to evolve and weare well-placed to do so through our new acquisitions.
