Arriva appoints managing director for Arriva the Shires and Essex

Arriva plc, the major European transport services organisation,has announced the appointment of Keith Spicer as the new managingdirector of Arriva the Shires and Essex.

David Martin, deputy chief executive for Arriva plc, said:

I am delighted that Keith is turning his considerableskills and experience to this new role and am confident he willbring the imagination and creativity needed to clearly add value toour business now and in the future.

Mr Spicer was previously managing director of the Group'ssightseeing division, The Original Tour. During his time in thatposition, Keith played a key role in managing and expanding acustomer-focused business, and introducing the first wheelchairaccessible open topped bus fleet in the capital.

Applications for the post of managing director at Arriva theShires and Essex are being sought from suitable candidates.
