Arriva celebrates Gold at UK Bus Awards
- Arriva wins a Gold accolade for Young Manager of the Year at UK’s largest bus awards
- Arriva colleagues pick up a total of six awards: 1 Gold award, 2 Silver awards and 3 Bronze awards
- Wins highlight success of Arriva’s talent in connecting communities
(London, 21 November) Arriva, a leading pan-European passenger transport operator, is celebrating the success of its UK Bus division which has won six awards at this year’s UK Bus Awards.
The prestigious awards, which are now in their 23rd year, are the industry’s biggest celebration of talent and best practice in the UK, with Arriva colleagues recognised across a range of categories covering individual and team successes.
Notable wins include:
- Rob Hutchings, Arriva London South, awarded Gold for Young Manager of the Year
- David Harris, Arriva London, awarded Silver for Top London Bus Driver
- Arriva London South’s Brixton Garage, awarded Bronze for London Bus Garage of the Year
In London, Christine Watkins of Arriva London won Bronze in the Top London Bus Driver Award.
Meanwhile Arriva also picked up two wins in the Leadership and Inspiration Award, with Michael Gatenby of Arriva Yorkshire picking up Silver, while Oliver Monaghan of Arriva Southern Counties was awarded Bronze.

“2018 has already been an exciting year for Arriva UK Bus, having introduced the first on-demand app-based service, ArrivaClick, to Liverpool.
“Recently, we also announced the rollout of contactless payments to 3,500 buses across the UK after a successful six-month trial in South East England, which is scheduled for completion by summer 2019.”
Commenting on Rob Hutchings’ Gold win, Mark Yexley, Chairman of the UK Bus Awards, said:
