Arriva Midlands introduces a vibrant new network

Arriva Midlands has introduced a vibrant new network of local bus routes and times linking Cannock Chase with Lichfield, Rugeley, Stafford, Walsall and Wolverhampton.  Cllr John Wakefield, Cabinet Member for Development Services at Staffordshire County Council joined Arriva Midlands Western Area Manager Kevin Walker at the launch of Chase Linx on Sunday 2 September 2007.

Customers using Arriva Midlands’ services are now enjoying an exciting package of changes, including a simplified network, with easy-to-follow timetables, logical service numbering and clear bus stop information.

Improved co-ordination of services provides enhanced frequencies on key corridors and regular spacing of buses. The new network branded Chase Linx – adds to the family of routes created recently when Arriva Midlands launched its Leicester Linx and Town Linx networks.

Timetable leaflets are available at local Libraries, Tourist Information Centres, and Council Offices along with Bus Station offices at Walsall and Wolverhampton.

Keith Myatt, communications and media relations manager for Arriva Midlands, said: “Bus services in the Cannock Chase area have not been reviewed on such a scale for many years. Since our last review, new shopping centres have sprung up, residential areas have been built and business parks have been opened. These have all had an effect on travel patterns so we have built our new network around them. We’re sure it will more closely serve the needs of the majority of our customers and meet the region’s growing travel needs and help ease congestion.
