Arriva on-board again with Christmas Jumper Day

Staff at the Doxford headquarters of Arriva, along with colleagues from across Europe, will take part in the festive initiative on Friday 16 December, with the company aiming to match last year’s £5,000 total they raised for the national children’s organisation.

The transport operator, which employs 60,000 people across Europe, including 30,000 in the UK, is encouraging employees to upload photographs and video messages to support the campaign and have set up a dedicated JustGiving page to help bring in more donations.

Alison Cole, director – communications at Arriva said: “The annual Christmas Jumper Day has continued to grow every year and it’s fantastic to be involved again and have the opportunity to raise funds for Save the Children.

“Like last year, we have set ourselves a £5,000 fundraising target and are set to see more employees than ever wearing their festive jumpers or home-made novelty Christmas outfits to work.

“It is great fun but there is also a serious side. Save the Children does an unbelievable amount of work to help children across the world and just £2 can make a life-changing difference to those living in poverty and help give children more opportunities in life.”

Outside of the UK, Arriva operates transport services in 13 European countries. The company’s employees outside of the UK are taking part in Christmas Jumper Day but will be raising money for other local charities.
