Arriva plc meets criteria for socially responsible investment register

Leading European transport group Arriva plc has met strict criteria to be designated as a socially responsible investment and has been included in the Ethibel Excellence Investment Register.

Arriva’s listing has been confirmed by Brussels-based Forum Ethibel following research by European corporate social responsibility rating agency Vigeo which has monitored corporate responsibility (CR) at Arriva since 2007.

Arriva plc chief executive David Martin said: “This latest listing reconfirms the corporate responsibility credentials of Arriva and its public transport operations and reflects our improvements in CR performance, its recording and reporting.

“Our inclusion in the Ethibel register and the FTSE4Good register, which was confirmed in June, will assure investors looking for investments with an ethical dimension that Arriva meets recognised standards.”

Forum Ethibel’s registers (www.ethibel.org) only include socially responsible investment funds and financial products which meet strict ethical criteria, drawing on research by rating agency Vigeo (www.vigeo.com).
