Arriva promises “easy access” to redeveloped town centre

Bus company promises buggy-friendly buses or nextjourney for free

Arriva the Shires and Essex have re-launched Hemel Town services2 & 3 and 4 & 5 promising customers that all buses used onthese services will be easy access – or the next journey will befree.

Commercial director, Brian Drury, said:

Easy access buses are ideal for parents with kids inbuggies, the less mobile and people with heavy shopping. Tocoincide with the opening of the new Riverside development we'remaking a commitment that all buses on town services 2, 3, 4 and 5will be low floor. If they're not, customers can give our customerservices team a call on 08701 201088 and we'll happily organisesending out a free journey voucher for their nexttrip.

In an attempt to make using the services as easy as possible fornew customers the vehicles have also been colour coded – with routedetails clearly shown on the outside of buses.

Services 2 and 3 will be known as Red Line and will offer a10-minute daytime frequency from Woodhall Farm, Grovehill,Highfield, Gadbridge, Warners End and Chaulden to the town centreMonday to Friday and a 15-minute service on Saturdays.

Services 4 and 5 will be known as Blue Line and will offer a15-minute daytime frequency from Grovehill, Highfield and BennetsEnd and the town centre.

Mr Drury added:

With super low floor buses, high frequency turn up andgo services and even a special bus link through to the new shoppingdevelopment using the bus will be a breeze.
