Arriva’s ‘HOST’ new passenger scheme

Arriva's passengers have the chance to nominate their favouritedrivers for a new awards scheme and tell bosses how the bus routesin the Luton and Dunstable area are performing.

Initially 35 regular users have agreed to update Arriva on aweekly basis on how they think things are going and the figure islikely to increase over the coming months.

The How's Our Service Today? scheme (HOST) will ask people aboutreliability, driver attitude, driving standards, vehicle comfortand cleanliness.

Those who have been chosen to take part have previouslyindependently contacted Arriva to give their opinions on busservices.

Maq Alibhai, district operations manager at Arriva's Lutondepot, said:

To make sure we keep up our high standards and improveour services the most important people to speak to are ourpassengers.
They know what is good about our buses and what ifanything needs to be changed.
This scheme gives them this chance on a weekly basis. As part of this they can also nominate their favourite drivers fora new awards scheme so that the good work our staff do is alsorecognised.

The depot, based in Dunstable Road, Luton, runs approximately 35services across the area.

Earlier this year an independent GFK NOP survey of over 2,600people found Arriva had a 90 per cent satisfaction rate with itscustomers across the Shires and Essex .

This followed Arriva's £2.4 million investment in new andrefurbished buses as well as £1 million to make 757 GreenLine coach services into central London wheelchair friendly.
