Arriva’s rail success recognised with Rail Business of the Year award: Rail Business of the Year at the Rail Business Awards

Arriva’s UK Trains division has been awarded the title of Rail Business of the Year at the Rail Business Awards - along with another top award and four commendations.

Arriva scooped the top Rail Business of the Year prize following a successful year operationally and commercially across its UK train operating companies and maintenance business, Arriva TrainCare. Arriva’s performance and innovation was recognised by the judges alongside its work to deliver a winning bid for the new Northern rail franchise.

Arriva Trains Wales also enjoyed a successful evening at the annual awards ceremony held at London’s Park Lane Hilton Hotel.

They were awarded the Training and Development Excellence Award for their Safety Concerns programme, along with three highly commended certificates in the Technological Innovation, Safety and Security Excellence, and Station Excellence categories.

CrossCountry was also awarded a commendation in the Training and Development Excellence category.

Chris Burchell, managing director of Arriva UK Trains said: “Winning top industry awards and a whole host of commendations is a testament and reflection of the great work and dedication of everyone in the UK Trains team in each of Arriva’s rail businesses.

“Being awarded Rail Business of the Year recognises the great achievements and results in the last year across our train operating companies, Alliance Rail, Arriva TrainCare, and within our bid team. It was of course a year which culminated in us being awarded the new Northern franchise. I am extremely proud of everyone and the whole team fully deserves this national recognition.”
