Arriva supports fun day – that has serious message too!

Arriva London, the local authority, Metropolitan Police, FireService and Shrublands community association are hoping to combatanti-social behaviour and raise awareness of safety at a communityfun day event held on the estate today (22 July)

Dave Jones, commercial support manager for Arriva London, said:

With the long light nights and the school summerholidays stretching ahead for weeks, we wanted to talk to localparents and ask them to take five minutes of their time to helpremind their children about the dangers of 'fooling around' on ornear the roadway.

Arriva London is also keen to help the children understand howvandalism can affect the company's ability to operate bus services, for example if vehicles have to be off the road for repair.

Dave Jones added:

We also want local children to understand that if theybecome involved in vandalising or damaging any property, it willlead to a prosecution – and they could end up with a criminalrecord.
