Arriva teams up with the Royal Bank of Scotland Group

Arriva’s UK bus division has teamed up with The Royal Bank of Scotland Group (RBS), a major employer in the UK, to offer its employees ‘Local Bus Travel’ annual tickets for use on Arriva buses.

The scheme which started on 1 September, provided through the RBS flexible benefits programme, gives RBS employees the opportunity to pay for annual Arriva bus tickets at gross pay level prior to tax and National Insurance deductions with the cost deducted from their monthly salary.

Trevor Blackman, Head of Remuneration and Benefits at RBS said, “As well as being a more environmentally friendly way to get to work, the tax free bus scheme allows our employees to make considerable savings on their annual travel costs.  At RBS we are constantly looking at ways to improve our flexible benefits scheme to ensure the products on offer add real value for staff. We are delighted that through working with Arriva, we are able to extend the availability of discounted local bus travel even further”

The tickets are valid on most local bus services run by Arriva outside London (excluding any TfL services in the London area, Green Line coaches to and from London, sightseeing buses, park and ride services or tours and excursions throughout the UK).

Mike Cooper, managing director for UK regional bus, said: "We are pleased to be able to work with The Royal Bank of Scotland to offer their UK employees a scheme that has additional benefits to the employee as well as encouraging local bus travel."

RBS employees can find out more about the scheme by visiting www.arrivabus.co.uk/rbs or call Arriva’s dedicated RBS ticket hotline 0871 423 1340
