CrossCountry unveils free iPhone app for rail users

All rail users across Britain can now plan their journey whilston the move using ‘Train Search’ – the new iPhoneapplication that, unlike other national rail travel informationapps, is available to download absolutely free.

Launched this week by CrossCountry, Britain’s largest railfranchise, this real time train information application is designedto help customers search for train times for any UK rail journey,and has already become the fourth most downloaded free travelapplication in the UK in less than one week.

The application allows users instant access to live train times,so they can see what time their train will arrive and plan theirconnections. Timetables will show calling points, changes andplatform numbers and users can also use the ‘currentposition’ feature to identify their nearest station, view amap to get directions to that station and even store and savefavourite routes.
