Deputy minister to mark Arriva investment in Bangor

The deputy minister for economic development and transport,Tamsin Dunwoody AM, will officially open Arriva's new Bangor garageon 9 February 2006.

Benefiting from an investment of over £1 million, thegarage, which is now situated on Llandygai Industrial Estate, hasbeen transformed into a modern, efficient workplace with state ofthe art facilities. It has replaced the ageing Beach Road facilityin Bangor city centre, which was originally built in 1931.

Buses from the new garage, which operate a number of Arrivaservices in the area, carry more than 120,000 customers every monthand travel some 2 million miles across North Wales every year.

Housing 46 vehicles, the garage is the base for a workforce ofover 120 people, including drivers, clerical employees andengineers. It features three new engineering bays, bus fuelling andwashing facilities and purpose built office space with fullydisabled access.
