Local bus operator Arriva has embraced the latest 'big brother'technology on board its buses – helping the company maintain andimprove its services in Merseyside.

Using Global Positioning System (GPS) technology, Arriva can nowpinpoint the exact arrival and departure times at every stop ofeach of its fleet of 738 buses in Merseyside to help the companyanalyse performance with more accuracy.

Arriva North West and Wales managing director Bob Hind said:

Whilst our punctuality and reliability records areextremely good, we're not complacent and we're always looking forways to improve the level of service we provide.
The greater the certainty our customers have that theirbus is going to arrive on time, the more likely that they will bemore confident about using our buses. This really does demonstrateour commitment to providing punctual and reliableservices.

Over the past three years, Arriva North West and Wales hasinvested more than £21 million in new, low floor easy accessbuses and equipment across its operating area.
