Arriva concludes acquisition of majority share in La Linea Spa

Arriva concludes acquisition of majority share in La Linea Spa: Bus-LaLinea01

  • Transaction concludes today, following signing on April 24, 2026.
  • Arriva Group now owns 80 per cent of La Linea Spa with a future option on the remaining 20 per cent.
  • Deal includes three depots and acquisition of Martinibus.

Arriva Group has today concluded its acquisition of an 80 per cent majority share of La Linea Spa, a leading private bus operator in Italy’s Veneto region.

The transaction strengthens Arriva’s position in Italy and more than doubles its market share in the region, where it already operates bus services between Chioggia and Venice.

As part of the acquisition, Arriva also takes ownership of Martinibus, a long-established commercial shuttle operator providing airport, port and inner-city connections.  La Linea’s operational headquarters and three depots are located in Marghera and Mestre (Venice).

Gianfranco Sgro, Chief Executive Officer of Arriva Group, said: “This deal marks a further step in our growth strategy in Europe.  Today we strengthen our presence in Northern Italy and expand our offering to local communities there. We also welcome new colleagues as part of the Arriva Group”.

La Linea delivers over 7.6 million kilometres annually. Around 40 per cent of La Linea’s fleet is already zero emission, with plans to further electrify operations over time.
